e=edge. It would be amazing to have a true edge device to run router OS software and bridge L3 and L2 with 4 physical ports (2 visible bonded ports). Small single CPU, 4-8G RAM, small Storage, Lots of NIC ports. Think pFSense, Vyos, Mikrotik, etc..

The new gen 3.5 fleet covers our needs for small and large edge deploys. https://metal.equinix.com/product/servers/m3-small/ with 2x 25G interfaces + our new networking features is great for edge needs. We can close this request. Thanks everyone!!

We'd love smaller (less expensive) instances for development k8s clusters without resorting to virtualization.

Yes! If there is a way to do mixed mode while maintaining the bond and presenting the OS with 2 separate NICs, that would be ideal. Or have the c3.small with a quad port NIC where 2 visible bonded ports are available.

Benjamin Jenkins would our c3.small with 2 x 25Gbps ports and mixed mode layer2/3 in a bond also meet this need?
