Yes, this is exactly what I would expect from Metal and I think in keeping with Metal's philosophy. I would like to be able to provision a l3-switch like the Arista 7050's we use on our end in the same way we provision a server in Metal today. We would use this more robust piece of hardware in place of something like a vyos router that is limited to working with the hardware limitations of a server. This would greatly simplify how we deploy servers and allow us to use a model that is still high performance / low latency, but without the complications of peering with every server we deploy.
